§ 5.02. RESPONSIBILITY OF COMMAND .

    The supervisory position of officers of the Sheriff's Office shall be:

    (a)

    Sheriff.

    (b)

    Chief Deputy.

    (c)

    Captain.

    (d)

    Lieutenant.

    (e)

    Jail Supervisor. (Jail Supervisors hold primary administrative authority within their work divisions in the absence of other administrative staff.)

    (f)

    Sergeant/Detective. (Sergeants shall hold primary administrative authority within their work divisions in the absence of other administrative staff.) (Detectives shall hold primary administrative authority within their work divisions in the absence of other administrative staff.)

    (g)

    Corporals.

    (2)

    In the absence of the Sheriff, the Chief Deputy shall assume the Sheriff's responsibilities; in the absence of the Sheriff and Chief Deputy, the Patrol Captain shall assume the Sheriff's responsibilities; in the absence of the Sheriff, Chief Deputy and Patrol Captain, a Lieutenant shall assume the Sheriff's responsibilities.
