§ 9.09. ADDITIONAL REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR PAWN BROKERS, SECONDHAND ARTICLE DEALERS, AND SECONDHAND JEWELRY DEALERS. (Cr. #954)

    In addition to compliance with the provisions of § 9.134.71(8)(a)—(e), Wis. Stats., within 24 hours after purchasing or receiving a secondhand article or secondhand jewelry, a pawn broker, secondhand article dealer, or secondhand jewelry dealer shall upload to a website designated by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, all of the information required by § 134.71(8)(e), Wis. Stats., in the format required by the website, together with any additional information required by the website operator, if the pawn broker, secondhand article dealer, or secondhand jewelry dealer has been given notice by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office of this requirement, such notice containing the name of the website, and internet address thereof.

    (2)

    Failure to upload the information required by § 134.71(8)(e), Wis. Stats., to the website as specified in subd. (1) shall not be a violation of this section if such failure is due to a temporary technological failure, provided that the pawn broker, secondhand article dealer or secondhand jewelry dealer has done all of the following:

    (a)

    Reported to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, within 12 hours of the time for uploading the information as required by subd. (1), the inability to comply with the requirements of subd. (1), and a description of the temporary technological failure. The report required under this paragraph may be made telephonically or by hand-delivering a written report; and

    (b)

    Delivered a legible printed report containing all of the information required by § 134.71(8)(e), Wis. Stats., to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office by not later than 4:30 p.m. on the day after the date on which the information was required to be uploaded as required by subd. (1). The report required by this paragraph shall be delivered by hand-delivery, or by electronic means.
