§ 5.06. COUNTY TO PAY JUDGMENTS .

(1)

The County will pay any civil judgment and court costs against any nonemployee deputy sheriff who:

(a)

Is a qualified elector and resident of Dodge County.

(b)

Is currently certified as a law enforcement officer by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.

(c)

Acts within the scope of his authority and within the laws of Wisconsin and the United States.

(d)

Acts in conformity with the County Sheriff's Office policy governing use of force and firearms.

(e)

Is scheduled for duty through the Sheriff's Office and complies with Sheriff's Office policies relating to part-time employment as a law enforcement officer outside the officers regular employing jurisdiction.

(2)

No coverage will be provided to any person acting, directly or indirectly, as a law enforcement officer for or on behalf of his regular employing agency or municipality.
